✽ Mark your calendars! HSCC MAW (@hsccart ) x CRF (@communityrootsfarm) will be hosting a cyanotype workshop ☀︎︎ this Sunday ☀︎︎ where we will use local plant matter and other organic/non-organic materials to print on card stock templates of papel picado, traditional Mexican paper decor, in preparation for our Community Roots Farm, Dia De Los Muertos event. Come learn about the traditions of the cherished holiday, learn how to make beautiful sun-printed decor, and link up with local community members to add to the community altar we will be piecing together on-site.

✽About The Workshop
Papel picado is traditionally a decorative Mexican folk craft made from intricately cut tissue paper and put on display during cultural holidays. For this workshop, participants will be using cyanotype chemicals to make sun-prints on cardstock templates of papel picado. The templates will be cut and the craft will be hung for the final reveal of the Ofrenda we are communally building on the 17th.
